Helen Davis, Senior Account Development Manager at Savi, shared how mobile coupons are revolutionising the shopper journey and driving activation at the point of purchase. Drawing on a poll of 2,000 UK shoppers, she highlighted that over half of shoppers say coupons influence their purchasing decisions, with more than 60% using their smartphones to redeem them in-store. Additionally, she revealed that 63% of shoppers are willing to share their email addresses in exchange for a coupon, showcasing the potential of mobile coupons to capture valuable customer data.
Savi demonstrated how mobile coupons enable brands to engage with shoppers at every stage of their journey, from out-of-home advertising and QR codes in-store to online ads that encourage visits to physical locations. She shared standout examples from brands like Diet Coke, Starbucks, and Coca-Cola, with some campaigns achieving coupon redemption rates as high as 67%. A particularly innovative campaign featured Coca-Cola’s virtual vending machine, designed to connect Gen Z audiences with Coca-Cola Zero Sugar. The presentation concluded with eight practical tips for running effective mobile coupon campaigns, providing actionable insights for brands looking to elevate their marketing strategies.
