SummaryIn 2010 DSGI re-launched The TechGuys – their in-store IT support for customers. The client had established a new brand identity, moving The TechGuys on from the ‘stick men’ characters of the past, to an army of little green characters who could help customers with everything from installing a new flat screen TV, to installing software on a new computer. How we delivered the final result. We worked closely with the client’s branding agency, LMC Design, to perfect the ‘Techling’ characters. Taking 2D hand drawn examples we used Cinema 4D to generate a 3D mesh, which was then rigged for character animation. The 3D model allowed us to create a variety of poses that could be rendered out and fed back into the static POS designs.
