SummaryIn 2010 DSGI re-launched The TechGuys – their in-store IT support for customers. The client had established a new brand identity, moving The TechGuys on from the ‘stick men’ characters of the past, to an army of little green characters who could help customers with everything from installing a new flat screen TV, to installing software on a new computer. How we delivered the final result. We worked closely with the client’s branding agency, LMC Design, to perfect the ‘Techling’ characters. Taking 2D hand drawn examples we used Cinema 4D to generate a 3D mesh, which was then rigged for character animation. The 3D model allowed us to create a variety of poses that could be rendered out and fed back into the static POS designs. SSP came to Signature Digital Menus Ltd to deliver more than just a technology solution. After analysing data from SSP, we developed a specific content strategy for increasing the value of each sale by a small amount. By doing this, over time and with the thousands of sales which go through each week, SSP are able to see a real impact to their bottom line. Signature Digital Menus Ltd offer more than just the hardware; they offer a content solution. Within that solution things like demographics, day parting and site trends can be analyzed; all of this is critical business information.The project uses Samsung LCD screens (40” and 46”) which each utilise an embedded PC for content playback. These screens run Scala software, ensuring reliability and simple management of content in this mission critical environment. The all the screens are managed remotely by SDM.
