What was the overall purpose of the network?
Camelot's new digital screen network was launched in December 2006 to help retailers communicate with their players easily, effectively - and in line with evolving consumer demands for instantaneous information and quick, efficient service. The centrally-operated system also ensures consistent, up-to-date branding and messaging for National Lottery games, without any additional effort needed from the retailer. Camelot originally had a digital screen network of 400 screens, but after continuing investment in the digital medium, was able to expand the network by 870 screens to a total of 1,270 screens in December 2006. Rather than keeping the initial 400 screens, the decision was taken to replace these 400 screens with the newly designed screens.The network consists of screens sited in retail outlets with National Lottery terminals.
