What is the technical specification of your entry?
To demonstrate the real life value of 3's Mobile Internet services, a series of live action sequences was created. The programme was played out on 40" Sony LCD screens capable of 720p HD. Screens were connected via DVI to CableTime MediaStar units that were programmed to pull the average size 159MB clip from the server over an ADSL network (when the stores were closed) and loop the content continuously. The sequence was encoded for play-out in the MPEG-4 HD file format using QuickTime Pro. Live action sequences were shot in one day in a blue screen studio using a Digi Beta 16:9 camera. Final Cut Pro HD was used for digitising footage, shot selections and editing scenarios. Chosen shots were exported to After Effects as QuickTime files for keying with Tinderbox Keylight plug-in. Backgrounds were generated using Cinema 4D with the Advanced Renderer allowing for the use of Global Illumination and Ambience Occlusion modules to create the soft grey tone effect. What was the rationale behind the channel design and content loop?
The role of the channel of seven HD LCD screens within the 100 x 3 Stores we operate across is to engage customers by visually demonstrating the media rich offering that 3 provide. Each of the seven screens we create is updated on a monthly basis and each is designed to showcase and sell different sectors of the varied content offering 3 provides to its customers.Our brief for this campaign was to create AV content for 3's 100 stores that would show across screens in the 'What's Hot' area of the stores.This campaign was for 3's Mobile Internet service, and specifically their eBay, Skype and WLM services which can be added on to mobile phones for a small extra monthly cost. The objective for the AV programme was to communicate each service, and its benefits, in a way that the customer would easily understand, and that seemed relevant to their lives. What is the technical specification of your entry?
The Digital Signage Network platform (hardware and software) was commissioned by Camelot Group PLC and was supplied and installed by BLANK BLANK. The digital screens were designed with their location in-store in mind. The screens are 10.4 inches (measured corner to corner) and sited either on or adjacent to the National Lottery Scratchcard dispensers. This keeps the screens in the immediate vicinity of the National Lottery terminal, which is always at the point of purchase.The content is deployed from Camelot Group PLC's HQ in Watford using BLANK BLANK's digital signage software signagelive.All Digital Content is created in house by Camelot Group PLC.The entry consists of an MPEG4 video file rendered at a resolution of 640x480 designed specifically to run on the 10.4" Digital Displays (signagelive Displayer X) mounted on top of the Scratchcard dispensers at 1,270 locations.
